The Role

The Logistics Coordinator plays a crucial role within the operations team by ensuring the smooth movement of goods between the warehouse, suppliers, and customers. Working closely with both the warehouse team and the purchasing team, the Logistics Coordinator ensures that products are delivered on time, at competitive rates, and any supply chain disruptions are quickly addressed.

 

The coordinator helps streamline communication across teams, ensuring that orders are fulfilled efficiently and in line with customer demands. By managing shipment schedules, tracking deliveries, and liaising with vendors, the Logistics Coordinator supports the overall efficiency and success of the operations team.

Main Duties

Although not exhaustive, the key duties and responsibilities of the role are as follows:

  • Coordinate Shipments:

    • Schedule and track shipments to ensure timely delivery.

    • Coordinate with internal teams, suppliers, and carriers to arrange pick-up, transportation, and delivery.

    • Track inventory levels and shipping progress to avoid delays.

  • Supplier & Vendor Communication:

    • Communicate with suppliers and vendors to confirm order statuses and resolve any issues related to shipments.

    • Assist in coordinating with third-party logistics providers for transportation needs. ​​

  • Documentation & Reporting:

    • Prepare and maintain shipping documentation, including bills of lading, invoices, and customs paperwork.

    • Track and report on logistics performance, including delivery timelines and cost management.

    • Generate regular logistics reports for management review.

  • Problem Resolution:

    • Address and resolve issues such as shipment delays, product shortages, or damage during transit.

    • Act as the primary point of contact for any logistical issues that arise during transportation or delivery.

  • Compliance & Safety:

    • Ensure that shipments comply with company policies, industry standards, and legal regulations.

    • Assist in maintaining a safe and organized logistics environment by following safety guidelines.

H&S Responsibilities

  • Be aware of hazards around the site and be proactive in identifying them and supporting removal of hazards identified by others

  • Comply with the safe systems of work in place

  • Ensure compliance with all the Health and Safety and due diligence measures in area of responsibility by carrying out regular inspections and risk assessments

  • Promote a culture of safety leading by example and ensuring safe working practices are adhered to

  • To keep work area clean, tidy and safe by maintaining high levels of Health and Safety standards at all times. Reporting any potential hazards. 

  • Adhere to all health and saftey guidelines, including wearing appropriate protective equipment and following safe working practices

Candidate Profile

​The ideal candidate will have the following experience/skills:​

  • Qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field preferred

  • Previous experience in logistics, supply chain, or shipping roles is a plus.

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Basic understanding of logistics software and systems (e.g., TMS, WMS).

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines.

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
